5 questions for you...
1. What part of your job is most rewarding?
C – I love that I am learning something new every day. When I reflect on my years of running Socialfly, I am grateful for all of the experiences I have had and all of the incredible people that I have met along the way.
S – I often remind myself that Courtney and I started Socialfly because we were both extremely passionate about social media and saw a real need in the market for an agency dedicated to social media services. We’ve organically grown our company over the past 8 years and coming into our office each day never feels like a job. We created a family of social media rockstars and it has been so rewarding to watch our team learn and grow personally and professionally over the years and I always get so excited as we help our clients achieve their goals.
2. What was the moment that made you realize you wanted to do what you do now?
C – I was working at American Express in their finance department. I was 2+ years out of college and I started to realize that pursuing a career in finance was not what I was passionate about. Amex started to do very innovative partnerships with Facebook and Twitter in 2011 when I was there. At that time, I realized that I wanted to learn more about social media marketing because there are both creative and analytical elements to it.
S – I was one of the first users of Facebook when it first launched. At the time I was a sophomore at Cornell University. Even back then I knew social media was going to be the way of the future. I stayed on the forefront of what was happening as new platforms were emerging and realized quickly that there needed to be a solution to help businesses use social media to market their company. I always knew I wanted to start my own business and once I had the idea for an agency I didn’t let anything hold me back from figuring out how to start it.
